अध्वनि क्षीणगात्राश्न पांसुपादावगुण्ठिता: । तेषामेव श्रमार्तानां यो हान्न॑ं कथयेद् बुध:
adhvani kṣīṇagātrāś ca pāṃsupādāvaguṇṭhitāḥ | teṣām eva śramārtānāṃ yo hānnam kathayed budhaḥ ||
マールカンデーヤは言った。「道中で肢体は衰え、足は塵に覆われ、まさにその人々が疲労に苦しんでいる。賢者は彼らのために食を語り（そして与え）、目の前の苦しみを和らげるべきである。」
