Kuvalāśva’s Lineage and Uttaṅka’s Petition concerning Dhundhu (धुन्धु-प्रसङ्गः)

मार्कण्डेय उवाच एवमुक्तो वामदेवेन राज- न्नन्त:पुरे राजपुत्र॑ं जघान । स सायकस्तिग्मतेजा विसृष्ट: श्रुत्वा दलस्तत्र वाक्यं बभाषे,मार्कण्डेयजी कहते हैं--राजन्‌! वामदेवके ऐसा कहते ही उस प्रचण्ड तेजस्वी बाणने धनुषसे छूटकर रनवासके भीतर जा राजकुमारका वध कर डाला। यह समाचार सुनकर दलने वहाँ पुनः इस प्रकार कहा--

mārkaṇḍeya uvāca—evam ukto vāmadevena rājan antaḥpure rājaputraṃ jaghāna | sa sāyakas tigmategā visṛṣṭaḥ śrutvā dalas tatra vākyaṃ babhāṣa |

マールカンデーヤは語った。「王よ、ヴァーマデーヴァがそう言い終えるや、烈々と輝く矢が弓より放たれ、奥宮へと飛び入り、王子を討ち取った。その報せを聞くと、ダラはそこで再び次のように言った。」
