तथा कथां शुभां श्रुत्वा मार्कण्डेयस्यथ धीमत: । विस्मिता: समपद्यन्त पुराणस्य निवेदनात्,बुद्धिमान् मार्कण्डेयजीके मुखसे वह मंगलमयी कथा सुनकर पुराणोक्त बातोंका ज्ञान हो जानेसे सब लोग बड़े ही विस्मित और प्रसन्न हुए
tathā kathāṃ śubhāṃ śrutvā mārkaṇḍeyasya tha dhīmataḥ | vismitāḥ samapadyanta purāṇasya nivedanāt ||
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは言った。「賢者マールカンデーヤの口より語られた吉祥なる説話を聞いて、そこに居合わせた者は皆、驚嘆に満たされた。さらに、古きプラーナの伝承を彼が説き明かしたことにより、彼らは理解を得て、深く歓喜した。」
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Auspicious knowledge transmitted through revered tradition (Purāṇic lore) and spoken by a wise sage leads listeners to clarity, upliftment, and ethical orientation; attentive listening to such discourse is itself portrayed as transformative.
Vaiśampāyana reports the audience’s reaction after hearing Mārkaṇḍeya: they become amazed and pleased because his Purāṇic narration conveys ancient truths and gives them understanding.
