The verse highlights the Mahābhārata’s recurring ethical motif that inner disturbance and bodily omens (nimitta) can mirror an approaching crisis, urging vigilance and discernment before actions that may lead to adharma or suffering.
The narrator reports that the person being described is suddenly afflicted with pain in the heart and left foot, and an inauspicious change (twitching/derangement) appears in the left eye—traditional signs that foreshadow misfortune in the immediate storyline.
