Adhyāya 160: Dikpāla-Cosmography and the Sun’s Kālacakra

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights how worldly events can be astonishing and unpredictable, especially at major turning points; it invites Yudhiṣṭhira to recognize impermanence and to hold steady to dharma when outcomes shift dramatically.

An ascetic speaker addresses Yudhiṣṭhira affectionately, commenting that such remarkable reversals are repeatedly witnessed by all beings at critical junctures—suggesting the story has reached or is reflecting upon a decisive transition.
