Adhyāya 160: Dikpāla-Cosmography and the Sun’s Kālacakra
ihasthair eva tat sarvaṃ śrotavyaṃ bharatarṣabhāḥ | na kāryā vaḥ kathaṃcit syāt tatrābhigamane matiḥ |
The verse teaches restraint and disciplined obedience: one should accept wise instruction, remain within safe limits, and avoid acting on impulsive curiosity—especially when warned not to approach a risky or prohibited place.
A seer addresses the Bharata hero(s), instructing them to stay where they are and learn the matter from there—through hearing and observation—explicitly forbidding them from forming any intention to go up to that place (likely a mountain or elevated region mentioned in the surrounding context).
