Gandhamādana-praveśa and the Sudden Storm (गन्धमादनप्रवेशः — चण्डवातवर्षवर्णनम्)
तान् प्रष्टकामान् विज्ञाय पाण्डवान् स तु लोमश: । उवाच वाक्यं वाक्यज्ञ: शृणुध्वं पाण्डुनन्दना:,लोमशजी ताड़ गये कि पाण्डवलोग उस श्वेत पर्वताकार वस्तुके विषयमें कुछ पूछना चाहते हैं, तब प्रवचनकी कला जाननेवाले उन महर्षिने कहा--*पाण्डवो! सुनो
tān praṣṭakāmān vijñāya pāṇḍavān sa tu lomaśaḥ | uvāca vākyaṃ vākyajñaḥ śṛṇudhvaṃ pāṇḍunandanāḥ ||
それについて問いたいとパーンダヴァたちが望んでいるのを見て取ると、言葉を適切に整えて語ることに長けた聖仙ローマシャは彼らに告げた。「聞け、パーンドゥの子らよ。」
लोगश उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical value of thoughtful inquiry and competent instruction: when sincere questions arise, a wise teacher responds with clarity and invites attentive listening.
The Pāṇḍavas are about to ask the sage Lomaśa about something they have noticed; understanding their intent, Lomaśa begins his explanation by calling them to listen.
