युवानं रूपसम्पन्नं करिष्याव: पतिं तव । ततस्तस्यावयोश्रैव वृणीष्वान्यतमं पतिम्
yuvānaṃ rūpasampannaṃ kariṣyāvaḥ patiṃ tava | tatastasyāvayoś caiva vṛṇīṣvānyatamaṃ patim ||
ローマシャは言った。「我らはそなたの夫を若く、しかも美貌に満ちた者として作り変えよう。そののち、我ら二人のうちから、望む者を夫として選ぶがよい。」

The verse highlights the ethical importance of consent and personal choice in marriage: even when elders propose an arrangement, the final selection is presented as the woman’s decision.
Lomaśa speaks to a woman, promising to provide a suitable young and handsome husband, and then invites her to choose between two possible husbands—emphasizing her role in the decision.
