Cyavana’s Tapas, Sukanyā’s Curiosity, and Śaryāti’s Appeasement (च्यवन-सुकन्या-उपाख्यान आरम्भ)
अग्नीनामतिथीनां च शुश्रूषुरनसूयिका । समाराधयत क्षिप्रं च्यवनं सा शुभानना,सुमुखी सुकन्या किसीके गुणोंमें दोष नहीं देखती थी। वह त्रिविध अग्नियों और अतिथियोंकी सेवामें तत्पर हो शीघ्र ही महर्षि च्यवनकी आराधनामें लग गयी
agnīnām atithīnām ca śuśrūṣur anasūyikā | samārādhayat kṣipraṁ cyavanaṁ sā śubhānanā, sumukhī sukanyā ||
ローマシャは語った。麗しい顔立ちで心やさしいスカンヤーは、他者の徳に瑕を見いだそうとしない。彼女は家の三つの聖火に怠りなく仕え、来客を敬ってもてなし、かくして速やかに聖仙チャヴァナを歓ばせることに身を捧げた。
