Lomaśa–Yudhiṣṭhira Dialogue
तस्मात् त्वमत्र राजेन्द्र भ्रातृभि: सहितो<च्युत । उपस्पृश्य महीपाल धूतपाप्मा भविष्यसि,अतः राजेन्द्र! तुम भाइयोंसहित इसमें स्त्रान करके सब पापोंसे मुक्त हो जाओगे
tasmāt tvam atra rājendra bhrātṛbhiḥ sahito 'cyuta | upaspṛśya mahīpāla dhūtapāpmā bhaviṣyasi ||
ゆえに、王の中の王よ、堕ちぬ者よ。ここにて兄弟とともに清めの沐浴を行え。大地を護る者よ、この聖なる水に触れて身を洗えば、汝はあらゆる罪垢を払い去るであろう。
लोगश उवाच
Purificatory action—here, ritual bathing and contact with sacred water—is presented as a means of removing moral taint (pāpa) and restoring fitness for dharmic conduct, especially for a ruler responsible for others.
Lokasha advises the addressed king to bathe at that place along with his brothers; the act of ablution is promised to cleanse sin and confer renewed purity.
