Kirmīra-rākṣasa-saṃgamaḥ (Encounter and Slaying of Kirmīra) |
kathaṁ nu bhāryā pārthānāṁ tava kṛṣṇa sakhī vibho | dhṛṣṭadyumnasya bhaginī sabhāṁ kṛṣyet mādṛśī ||
The verse underscores that social power and legal procedure are meaningless when dharma is abandoned: even a woman of high status and protected relationships can be publicly violated if a court normalizes injustice. It condemns the ethical collapse that permits humiliation in the name of authority.
The speaker evokes the infamous scene of a noble woman—connected to the Pāṇḍavas, allied to Kṛṣṇa, and sister to a powerful warrior—being dragged into the assembly. The rhetorical question highlights the shock and moral impossibility of such treatment, pointing to the wrongdoing of those who allowed it.
