अकृतव्रण उवाच
The verse frames ethical instruction through revered lineage-based narrative: a ‘great and excellent’ traditional account is introduced as a vehicle for dharma, using respectful address to a king and grounding authority in the Bhṛgu tradition.
Akṛtavraṇa announces that he is about to tell Yudhiṣṭhira a celebrated story concerning a figure born in the Bhṛgu line, setting up the forthcoming episode and its moral import.
