Agastya’s Injunction
अवध्य: सर्वभूतानां बलिश्चापि महासुर: । वामन वपुराश्रित्य त्रैलोक्याद् भ्रंशितस्त्वया,“सम्पूर्ण प्राणियोंके लिये अवध्य महादैत्य बलिको भी आपने ही वामनरूप धारण करके त्रिलोकीके राज्यसे वंचित किया
avadhyaḥ sarvabhūtānāṁ baliścāpi mahāsuraḥ | vāmana-vapur āśritya trailokyād bhraṁśitas tvayā |
ローマシャは言った。「あらゆる生きものにとって討ち得ぬとされた大アスラ、バリでさえ、あなたがヴァーマナ(矮人)の姿を取られたとき、三界の王権を奪われたのだ。」
लोगश उवाच
No worldly power is absolute: even one considered invulnerable can be brought down when divine order (dharma) reasserts itself. The verse underscores how pride in strength and sovereignty is checked by a higher moral-cosmic authority.
Lomaśa cites the well-known episode of Viṣṇu as Vāmana, who, by taking a humble form, displaced King Bali from dominion over the three worlds—using this as an illustrative precedent within his discourse.
