ऐरावणो<स्मात्‌ सलिल॑ गृहीत्वा जगतो हित: । मेघेष्वामुज्चते शीतं यन्महेन्द्र: प्रवर्षति

Transliteration

airāvaṇo ’smāt salilaṁ gṛhītvā jagato hitaḥ | megheṣv āmuñcate śītaṁ yan mahendraḥ pravarṣati ||

Translation

ナーラダは言った。「アイラーヴァナは世のために、ここから水を汲み上げ、その冷ややかな水を雲に宿らせる。やがてマヘーンドラ（インドラ）がそれを地上へ雨として降らせるのだ。」
