Kṛṣṇa’s Counsel to Dhṛtarāṣṭra in the Assembly
अग्रतो वासुदेवस्य कर्णदुर्योधनावुभौ । वृष्णय: कृतवर्मा चाप्यासन् कृष्णस्य पृष्ठत:,वसुदेवनन्दन श्रीकृष्णके आगे-आगे कर्ण और दुर्योधन थे और उनके पीछे कृतवर्मा तथा अन्य वृष्णिवंशी वीर थे
vaiśampāyana uvāca |
agrato vāsudevasya karṇa-duryodhanāv ubhau |
vṛṣṇayaḥ kṛtavarmā cāpy āsan kṛṣṇasya pṛṣṭhataḥ ||
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。ヴァースデーヴァ（シュリー・クリシュナ）の前にはカルナとドゥルヨーダナの二人があり、クリシュナの後ろにはクリタヴァルマーと、ほかのヴリシュニ族の勇士たちがいた。この偈は、来たる戦の大人物たちがクリシュナを中心に配されるさま—先に立つ者、従う者—を示し、権勢を求める同盟と正しき導きとの間の道義的緊張をほのめかす。
