Krishna explains the purpose of his coming to Vidura
saṃvicca dhārtarāṣṭrāṇāṃ sarveṣām eva keśava | śame prayatamānasya tava saubhrātraka-āṅkṣiṇaḥ ||
When a party has hardened itself in adharma—denying others their rightful due—mere conciliatory speech may fail; ethical governance requires justice, and peace without justice becomes impossible.
Vaiśampāyana describes to Keśava (Kṛṣṇa) that the Kauravas have firmly decided not to give the Pāṇḍavas their legitimate share of the kingdom, warning that Kṛṣṇa’s efforts at reconciliation and brotherly harmony may be wasted on them.
