विदुरस्य कृष्णं प्रति शमोपदेशः
Vidura’s Counsel to Krishna on the Limits of Peace
राजभिस्तत्र वाष्णेय: समागच्छद् यथावय: । मन्त्रियोंसहित दुर्योधनसे मिलकर वृष्णिकुलभूषण केशव अवस्थाके अनुसार वहाँ सभी राजाओंसे यथायोग्य मिले
rājabhis tatra vāṣṇeyaḥ samāgacchad yathāvayaḥ | mantribhiḥ sahito duryodhanena militvā vṛṣṇikulabhūṣaṇaḥ keśavo 'vasthānusāraṃ tatra sarvair rājabhir yathāyogyaṃ samāgacchat |
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。そこにてケーシャヴァ――ヴリシュニ族の誉れ――は、集まった諸王に対し、それぞれの位階と事情にふさわしく面会した。重臣を伴い、ドゥルヨーダナとともに、すべての君主へ相応の礼を尽くし、作法とその時の要請を守ったのである。
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even amid political tension, dharma expresses itself as measured, appropriate conduct: honoring people according to their role and circumstance, maintaining decorum, and using diplomacy rather than impulsiveness.
Keśava (Kṛṣṇa), associated here with Duryodhana and accompanied by ministers, arrives among many kings and greets/engages them suitably—observing rank, situation, and proper courtly protocol as events move toward the great conflict.
