Kṛṣṇa at Duryodhana’s House: Refusal of Hospitality and Departure to Vidura (कृष्णस्य धार्तराष्ट्रनिवेशनगमनम्)

वैशम्पायन उवाच तत आश्वासयामास पुत्राधिभिरभिप्लुताम्‌ । पितृष्वसारं शोचन्तीं शौरि: पार्थसख: पृथाम्‌,वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--जनमेजय! तदनन्तर अर्जुनके मित्र भगवान्‌ श्रीकृष्णने पुत्रोंकी चिन्ताओंमें डूबकर शोक करती हुई अपनी बुआ कुन्तीको इस प्रकार आश्वासन दिया इति श्रीमहा भारते उद्योगपर्वणि भगवद्यानपर्वणि कृष्णकुन्तीसंवादे नवतितमो<ध्याय:

vaiśampāyana uvāca | tata āśvāsayāmāsa putrādhibhir abhiplutām | pitṛṣvasāraṃ śocantīṃ śauriḥ pārthasakhaḥ pṛthām ||

ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。ついで、パールタ(アルジュナ)の至友であるシャウリ—クリシュナは、父方の叔母プリター(クンティー)を慰めた。彼女は息子たちへの憂いに沈み、悲嘆に圧されていたのである。そのときクリシュナの言葉は、悲しみを弱さではなく、助言と血縁の支え、そしてダルマに立つ不動の決意によって支え持つべき重荷として位置づけ、迫り来る争いのただ中で心を定めさせた。
