Omens and Reception During Keśava’s Departure
dhṛṣṭadyumnaḥ saputraś ca virāṭaḥ kekayaiḥ saha | saṃsādhanārthaṃ prayayuḥ kṣatriyāḥ kṣatriyarṣabha kṣatriyaśiromaṇe ||
The verse highlights kṣatriya-dharma expressed through disciplined coordination, readiness, and proper conduct: leaders and allies act promptly to secure resources and fulfill social-ethical obligations (saṃsādhanārtha and śiṣṭācāra) rather than acting impulsively.
After Śrī Kṛṣṇa’s movement/departure in the Udyoga context, key Pāṇḍava-aligned rulers—Dhṛṣṭadyumna with his sons, Virāṭa, and the Kekayas—set out to make arrangements and to accompany/follow in due order, signaling organized mobilization among allies.
