वैशम्पायन उवाच इत्युक्त्वा मृदुसंहारं वृजिनाग्रं सुदर्शनम्‌ । सुनीलमसितापाडुी सर्वगन्धाधिवासितम्‌

vaiśampāyana uvāca | ity uktvā mṛdu-saṃhāraṃ vṛjina-agraṃ sudarśanam | su-nīlam asitā-pāṇḍu sarva-gandhādhivāsitam |

ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。「ジャナメージャヤ王よ、そう言い終えると、ドルパダの娘クリシュナー(ドラウパディー)は、左手に自らの髪束を取った――やわらかくまとめられ、目を奪うほど美しく、深い青黒色で、黒く艶やかに輝き、あらゆる香で薫っていた。蓮華の眼を持ち、象のごとき歩みのその姫は、蓮華眼のシュリー・クリシュナのもとへ近づいた。瞳に涙を満たし、こうして語り始めた。」
