सहदेव उवाच
A warrior’s counsel gains ethical and practical force when it represents shared deliberation and collective responsibility. The verse frames Sahadeva’s words as the consensus of the assembled fighters, emphasizing unity of purpose and the kṣatriya obligation to stand by a resolved course in a time of crisis.
In the midst of deliberations preceding the great conflict, Sahadeva’s statement is endorsed as the common view of the entire body of warriors. The speaker addresses a revered figure as ‘Puruṣottama’ and asserts that Sahadeva’s battle-hardened judgment reflects the assembly’s unified stance.
