Public injustice and deliberate humiliation, when repeatedly tolerated, corrode dharma; Arjuna argues that the Pāṇḍavas have already shown extreme forbearance, and that ethical responsibility now demands firm action rather than endless compromise.
In the Udyoga Parva’s pre-war deliberations, Arjuna reminds the listener of Draupadī’s suffering in the royal assembly at the hands of Duryodhana, emphasizing that the Pāṇḍavas previously endured that outrage—implying that further concessions would be morally untenable.
