अयं गान्धारांस्तरसा सम्प्रमथ्य जित्वा पुत्रान्‌ नग्नजित: समग्रान्‌ । बद्धं मुमोच विनदन्तं प्रसहा सुदर्शन वै देवतानां ललामम्‌

sañjaya uvāca |

ayaṃ gāndhārāṃs tarasā sampramathya jitvā putrān nagnajitaḥ samagrān |

baddhaṃ mumoca vinadantaṃ prasahya sudarśanaṃ vai devatānāṃ lalāmam ||

サンジャヤは言った。「抗しがたい速さで彼はガンダーラの戦士たちを蹂躙し、ナグナジット王の子らをことごとく打ち破り、さらに縛られて嘆き叫ぶスダルシャナ王を力ずくで解き放った。スダルシャナ王は、神々の間にあってさえ飾りと称えられる名高き王であった。この出来事は、クリシュナが守護者として、不義の幽閉を断ち切り、断乎たる行いで正しい秩序を回復することを示している。」
