यदाभिमन्यु: परवीरघाती शरै: परान्‌ मेघ इवाभिवर्षन्‌ | विगाहिता कृष्णसम: कृतास्त्र- स्तदा युद्ध धार्तराष्ट्रोडन्वतप्स्यत्‌

Transliteration

sañjaya uvāca | yadābhimanyuḥ paravīraghātī śaraiḥ parān megha ivābhivarṣan | vigāhitaḥ kṛṣṇasamaḥ kṛtāstraḥ tadā yuddhe dhārtarāṣṭro 'dhyatapsyata ||

Translation

サञ्जयは言った。「敵の勇士を討つアビマンニュが、雨雲のごとく矢の豪雨を降らせ、敵軍のただ中へ躍り入るとき――武勇はクリシュナに比肩し、武器の術にも完全に通じている――その戦いにおいて、ドリタラーシュトラの子は胸の内で苦悶に焼かれるであろう。真の武の卓越は、鍛錬と技芸に根ざすがゆえに、正法（ダルマ）なき力に頼る者の自信を揺るがすのである。」
