बुद्धया भयं प्रणुदति तपसा विन्दते महत्‌ | गुरुशुश्रूषया ज्ञानं शान्तिं योगेन विन्दति

buddhyā bhayaṁ praṇudati tapasā vindate mahat | guruśuśrūṣayā jñānaṁ śāntiṁ yogena vindati ||

ヴィドゥラは説く――人は澄みきった分別の智慧によって恐れを払い、苦行(タパス)によってより高き境地に至る。師に恭敬して仕えることで真の知を得、規律あるヨーガの修習によって内なる安寧を見いだす。『ウディヨーガ・パルヴァ』の戦前の緊迫した諫言の中で、この偈は自己統御の実践的な階梯を示し、倫理的な揺るぎなさの基礎とする。
