ध्ृतराष्टर उवाच आचक्ष्व मां कुशलिनं कल्पमस्मै प्रवेश्यतां स्वागतं संजयाय । न चाहमेतस्य भवाम्यकल्प: स मे कस्माद् द्वारि तिछेच्च सक्त:
dhṛtarāṣṭra uvāca |
ācakṣva māṃ kuśalinaṃ kalpam asmai praveśyatāṃ svāgataṃ saṃjayāya |
na cāham etasya bhavāmy akalpaḥ sa me kasmād dvāri tiṣṭhec ca saktaḥ ||
ドリタラーシュトラは言った。「我は無事であり、今すぐ会う用意があると告げよ。サンジャヤを迎え、内へ通せ。私は彼に会うのに備えぬことなどない——それなのに、なぜ門に押しつくように立っているのだ。」
ध्ृतराष्टर उवाच
Even amid political crisis, proper conduct (svāgata, respectful reception) and readiness to hear truthful counsel are marks of responsible rule; Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s urgency shows how moral decision-making depends on timely, trusted information.
At court, Dhṛtarāṣṭra instructs the doorkeeper/attendant to welcome Saṃjaya and bring him in immediately, questioning why Saṃjaya is still waiting at the door when the king is ready to meet him.
