अजातगशशभत्रुस्तु विहाय पाप॑ं जीर्णा त्वचं सर्प इवासमर्थाम्‌ । विरोचतेडहार्यवृत्तेन वीरो युधिष्ठिरस्त्वयि पापं विसृज्य

sañjaya uvāca | ajātaśatruḥ tu vihāya pāpaṃ jīrṇāṃ tvacaṃ sarpa ivāsamarthām | virocate dhārya-vṛttena vīro yudhiṣṭhiras tvayi pāpaṃ visṛjya ||

サञ्जयは言った。「罪を捨て去り—もはや身にまといつけぬ古い皮を蛇が脱ぎ捨てるように—『無怨(アジャータシャトル)』たる勇士ユディシュティラは燦然と輝く。過ちの重荷を汝の上に落とし、自らの揺るがぬ正しき規範へと立ち返ったとき、彼は本来の徳においていよいよ光彩を放つのだ。」
