Udyoga-parva Adhyāya 30: Sañjaya’s Departure and Yudhiṣṭhira’s Commission of Greetings
'शत्रुदमन नरेश! जब वे बालक थे, तब आपकी ही कृपासे उन्हें राज्य मिला था। पहले उन्हें राज्यपर बिठाकर अब अपने ही आगे उन्हें नष्ट होते देख उपेक्षा न कीजिये” ।।
sarvam apy etad ekasya nālaṃ saṃjaya kasyacit | tāta saṃhatya jīvāmo dviṣatāṃ mā vaśaṃ gamaḥ ||
「敵を鎮める王よ！彼らが幼かった頃、陛下の御慈悲によって王国を得たのです。まず彼らを王位に確かに据え、そのうえで、御前で滅びゆくのを見捨ててはなりません。」さらにサンジャヤよ、こうも伝えよ。「父上、この国土すべては一人だけのためにあるのではありません。われら皆が和合して共に住み、安らかに生を支えましょう。逆の道を選び、敵の支配に落ちてはなりません。」
