Karma, Varṇa-Dharma, and the Ethics of Governance
ये जीवन्ति व्यवहारेण राष्टरे पशुूंश्ष ये पालयन्तो वसन्ति
yudhiṣṭhira uvāca | ye jīvanti vyavahāreṇa rāṣṭre paśūṃś ca ye pālayanto vasanti | kṛṣīvalā bibhrati ye ca lokaṃ teṣāṃ sarveṣāṃ kuśala-samāṃ pṛcche ||
ユディシュティラは言った。「国に住むすべてのヴァイシャの安否を問う。商いで生計を立てる者、牛や家畜を養いながら暮らす者、そして農耕によって人々を支える農夫たちである。皆が無事で栄えるように。」
