Ambā’s Vow of Tapas after Paraśurāma’s Assessment (अम्बाया तपोव्रतनिश्चयः)
कन््यां प्रवररूपां तु प्राजायत नराधिप । नरेश्वर! पुत्रहीन राजा ट्रपदकी उस महारानीने समय आनेपर एक परम सुन्दरी कन्याको जन्म दिया
kanyāṁ pravararūpāṁ tu prājāyata narādhipa | nareśvara! putrahīno rājā drupadakī sā mahārājñī samaye āgate paramasundarīṁ kanyāṁ janayām āsa ||
ビーシュマは言った。「王よ、しかるべき時が来ると、王ドルパダには男子がなかったにもかかわらず、その王妃ドルパダキーは、比類なき美貌と高貴な姿を備えた姫君を産んだ。物語は、男児の後継がなくとも王統の望みと不安が尽きぬことを示しつつ、同時に、娘の誕生もまた自ら吉祥にして重大な出来事として語っている。」
भीष्म उवाच

Bhishma narrates that Queen Drupadakī, wife of the sonless King Drupada, gives birth at the proper time to an extraordinarily beautiful daughter.
