कौरवनरेश! उस समय परशुरामजीने अत्यन्त क्रुद्ध होकर मेरे ऊपर तुरंत ही दस हजार, लाख, दस लाख, अर्बुद, खर्ब और निखर्ब बाणोंका प्रहार किया ।। ततो<हं तानपि रणे शरैराशीविषोपमै: । संछिद्य भूमौ नृपते पातयेयं नगानिव,नरेश्वर! तब मैंने रणभूमिमें विषधर सर्पके समान भयंकर सायकोंद्वारा उन सब बाणोंको वृक्षोंकी भाँति भूमिपर काट गिराया

tato 'haṃ tān api raṇe śarair āśīviṣopamaiḥ | saṃchिद्य bhūmau nṛpate pātayeyam nagān iva ||

ビーシュマは語った。「クル族の王よ!その時パラシュラーマは激怒し、ただちに私へ矢を浴びせた――一万、十万、百万、さらにアルブダ、カルバ、ニカルバに及ぶほどの数である。だが王よ、戦場において私は、毒蛇のごとく恐るべき我が矢でそれらをことごとく断ち切り、木々が伐り倒されるように地へ落とした。」
