sa hi lubdhaś ca nīcaś ca jitakāśī ca bhārgava | tasmāt pratikriyā kartuṁ yuktā tasmai tvayānagha niṣpāpa bhārgava |
罪なきバールガヴァよ。ビーマは貪欲にして卑しく、すでに勝ち得たかのように驕り喜んでいる。ゆえに、彼に対して対抗の手を下すことこそ、汝にふさわしい。
राम उवाच
The verse argues that when an opponent is driven by greed, baseness, and arrogant triumphalism, a measured counter-action can be ethically appropriate. It frames response as dharma-based pratikriyā (a justified reply), not as uncontrolled vengeance.
Rāma (Paraśurāma) addresses Bhārgava (i.e., Paraśurāma himself as a Bhṛgu-descendant in the traditional address) in the context of the Bhīṣma–Paraśurāma confrontation, characterizing Bhīṣma as greedy and ignoble and urging that a fitting counter-response be undertaken against him.
