Krishna’s Theophanic Display in the Kuru Assembly
na ca dharmād apakrāmed acyutaḥ puruṣottamaḥ |
The verse asserts Kṛṣṇa’s infallible commitment to dharma: he is portrayed as incapable of blameworthy or sinful conduct and therefore never departs from righteousness, even amid complex political and moral dilemmas.
In the Udyoga Parva’s war-preparation context, Vaiśampāyana characterizes Kṛṣṇa as unwaveringly dharmic, reinforcing his moral authority as a guide and mediator during the tense lead-up to the Kurukṣetra conflict.
