Duryodhana’s Reply in the Kuru Assembly
दृष्टवा त्वां पाण्डवैरवरिभ्रातृभि: सह संगतम् | यावदानन्दजाश्रूणि प्रमुड्चन्तु नराधिपा:,“तुम्हें अपने वीर भाई पाण्डवोंके साथ मिला हुआ देख ये सब नरेश अपने नेत्रोंसे आनन्दके आँसू बहायें
dṛṣṭvā tvāṃ pāṇḍavair avaribhrātṛbhiḥ saha saṅgatam | yāvad ānandajāśrūṇi pramuñcantu narādhipāḥ ||
汝が勇ましき兄弟パーンダヴァらと再び相まみえるのを見て、これらの王たちは歓喜より生まれた涙をその眼よりこぼすがよい。
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical power of restored family unity: even rulers are moved to joyful tears when rightful bonds are renewed, suggesting that reconciliation and shared kinship are dharmic goods worth honoring, especially before violence becomes inevitable.
Vaiśampāyana describes a scene where the addressed person is seen reunited with the Pāṇḍavas; witnessing this, assembled kings are expected to shed tears of joy, marking the emotional impact of the meeting within the tense Udyoga Parva context.
