Gālava’s Audience with King Uśīnara
etac ca me bahumataṃ yad utsṛjya narādhipān | mām evam upayāto 'si bhāvi caitad asaṃśayam ||
The verse frames a moral-political value: honoring a petitioner who chooses one’s protection over other rulers, and recognizing that certain outcomes are ‘bhāvi’—to be accepted as destined—without wavering in one’s duty of reception and support.
Divodāsa addresses someone who has approached him seeking help, emphasizing that it is a great distinction that the person has bypassed other kings to come directly to him, and he affirms with certainty that what is to happen will indeed come to pass.
