Nahuṣa Abhiṣeka and the Crisis of Restraint (नहुषाभिषेकः—दमभ्रंशः)
तस्मादेतद् भवेत् सत्य त्वयोक्त द्विजसत्तम । 'भगवन्! आपने पहले जो वैसी बातें कही हैं
tasmād etad bhavet satyaṃ tvayokta dvijasattama |
ゆえに、最勝のバラモンよ、あなたの語ったことが真実となりますように。尊き御方よ、あなたは先にそのような言葉を発せられた—いまこそ、その言葉を行いによって真と成してください。あなたの口からは、むなしい言葉も偽りの言葉も、かつて一度たりとも出たことがない。ゆえに、この先の宣言もまた、真実として成就せねばなりません。
शल्य उवाच
Speech must align with truth not only as factual correctness but as moral reliability: a respected person’s words should be made true through consistent action, preserving trust and dharma.
Shalya addresses a revered Brahmin figure, urging him to ensure that his earlier statement is not left empty—because such a person is known never to speak falsely, his prior words should be fulfilled as truth.
