Udyoga Parva, Adhyaya 104: Nārada on Suhṛt and Nirbandha; the Viśvāmitra–Gālava Exemplum Begins

True worth is not diminished by one’s role of service; contempt born of pride is ethically blameworthy. The verse critiques the tendency to undervalue those who support and bear burdens for others.
Garuḍa addresses another figure, reminding him that Garuḍa is positioned on his banner and serves him with effort, and also carries his younger brother—yet is still treated with disrespect.
