भृशमुद्विग्नमनसस्ते पौरा: कुरुसंक्षये । प्राक्रोशन्‍्त महाराज स्वनुरक्तास्तदा भृूशम्‌,महाराज! कुरुकुलका संहार हो जानेसे अत्यन्त उद्विग्नचित्त हुए पुरवासी जो राजवंशके साथ पूर्ण अनुराग रखते थे, जोर-जोरसे रोने लगे

bhṛśam udvigna-manasas te paurāḥ kuru-saṅkṣaye | prākrośan mahārāja sva-nuraktās tadā bhṛśam ||

ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。――大王よ、俱盧の一門が滅び去ると、王家に深く心を寄せていた都の民は、胸の内を激しくかき乱され、悲嘆の声を高く上げて泣き叫んだ。
