अस्तब्ध: पूजयेन्मान्यान् गुरून् सेवेदमायया । अर्चेद् देवानदम्भेन श्रियमिच्छेदकुत्सिताम्
astabdhaḥ pūjayen mānyān gurūn seved amāyayā | arced devān adambhena śriyam icched akutsitām ||
ビーシュマは教える。驕りを捨て、へりくだって敬うべき人を敬え。欺きなく師に仕え、誇示なく神々を礼拝せよ。そして繁栄は、非難の余地なき清らかな手段によってのみ求めよ。かくして、世の作法も霊の修行も財の願いも、すべてダルマの規律のもとに収まるのである。
भीष्म उवाच
Cultivate humility and integrity: honor the worthy, serve teachers sincerely, worship without show, and pursue prosperity only through morally blameless means.
