न संवत्सरसत्राणि तिष्ठेयुरकुतो भया: । विधिवद् दक्षिणावन्ति यदि राजा न पालयेत्,यदि राजा पालन न करे तो उनमें विधिपूर्वक दक्षिणाओंसे युक्त वार्षिक यज्ञ बेखटके न चल सकें
na saṁvatsara-satrāṇi tiṣṭheyuḥ akuto-bhayāḥ | vidhivad dakṣiṇāvanti yadi rājā na pālayet ||
もし王が守護を与えず秩序を保たないなら、たとえ規定どおりに執り行われ、祭司への正当な布施（ダクシナー）も備わった一年に及ぶ祭祀会（サトラ）であっても、恐れなく続けることはできない。すなわち、儀礼の繁栄と公の宗教生活は、安全と安定を保証する正しい王権に依存するのである。
