यैर्यरुपायैलोंकस्तु न चलेदार्यवर्त्मन: । तत् सर्व राजशार्दूल नीतिशास्त्रेडभिवर्णितम्,राजसिंह! जिन-जिन उपायोंद्वारा यह जगत् सन्मार्गसे विचलित न हो, उन सबका इस नीतिशास्त्रमें प्रतिपादन किया गया है
yair yair upāyair lokas tu na caled āryavartmanaḥ | tat sarvaṁ rājasārdūla nītiśāstre ’bhivarṇitam ||
ビーシュマは言った。「王たちの中の虎よ、世が高貴なる正道から逸れぬよう保つための、あらゆる手立てと方策——それらはすべて、この政道と倫理の論書に説き尽くされている。」
भीष्म उवाच
Bhishma emphasizes that the purpose of nīti (ethical statecraft) is to provide practical measures that keep society aligned with the noble, righteous path; the treatise aims to prevent moral and civic deviation.
In the Shanti Parva, Bhishma instructs the king (Yudhishthira) on rajadharma and nīti; here he concludes that all relevant methods for keeping the world steady in righteous conduct have been explained within the nītiśāstra.
