जज्ञुश्वैव महात्मानस्ततस्तं ज्ञानचक्षुषा । ब्राह्मणा वेदविद्वांसस्तपोभिविमलीकृता:,उन वेदवेत्ता ब्राह्मणोंका अन्त:ःकरण तपस्यासे निर्मल हो गया था। उन महात्माओंने ज्ञानदृष्टिसे उस राक्षसको पहचान लिया

jajñuś caiva mahātmānas tatas taṁ jñānacakṣuṣā | brāhmaṇā vedavidvāṁsas tapobhir vimalīkṛtāḥ ||

そのとき、ヴェーダに通じ、苦行(タパス)によって清められた大いなる魂のバラモンたちは、霊知の眼をもって彼を見抜いた。タパスにより磨かれた内なる澄明さが、目前の存在の真の本性を識別させたのである。
