凄まじき武勇のクンティーの子ビーマセーナが、その牛たちの手綱を操り、アルジュナは光り輝く白き王傘を捧げ持った。しかもその淡白の王傘は、戦車の頂に高く掲げられて、星を散らした天空の白雲のごとく、ひときわ美しく輝いた。物語の中でこの比喩は、パーンダヴァの威厳と吉祥の権威をいっそう高め、彼らの武備を、ただの暴威の誇示ではなく、秩序立ち儀礼に裏打ちされた正しき備えとして描き出している。
वैशम्पायन उवाच
