सर्वभूतपरित्राणं क्षत्रधर्म इहोच्यते । वैश्यानां यज्ञसंवृत्तिरातिथेियसमन्विता
sarvabhūta-paritrāṇaṁ kṣatra-dharma iha ucyate | vaiśyānāṁ yajña-saṁvṛttir ātithya-samanvitā ||
ビーシュマは言った。「この世において、クシャトリヤの務めと宣言されるのは、あらゆる生きとし生けるものを守り護ること。ヴァイシャの定められた務めは、客人を敬いもてなしつつ、祭式（ヤジュニャ）を正しく執り行い、保つことである。」
