Shloka 13

ते तेन समनुज्ञाता ब्राह्मणेन भुजड़मा: । स्वमेव भवन जग्मुरकृतार्था नरर्षभ,नरश्रेष्ठ! उस ब्राह्मणके इस प्रकार आदेश देनेपर वे नाग अपने प्रयत्नमें असफल हो घरको ही लौट गये

te tena samanujñātā brāhmaṇena bhujagāḥ | svam eva bhavanaṁ jagmur akṛtārthā nararṣabha ||

かくしてそのバラモンの許しを得た蛇たちは立ち去り、自らの住処へと帰っていった。企ては失敗に終わっていたのである。おお、人のうち最勝の者よ! 彼らは来たる目的を成し遂げぬまま帰還した――これは、たとえ強大な者であっても、正しき人が同意を与えぬとき抑えられること、そしてダルマの承認なき欲望はついに挫折へ至ることを、暗に示すのである。
