Āścarya-kathana: Brāhmaṇa–Nāga Dialogue on Sūrya (Vivasvat) and the ‘Second Sun’ Phenomenon

kṛṣṇa eva hi lokānāṃ bhāvano mohanas tathā | saṃhārakārakaś caiva kāraṇaṃ ca viśāṃpate ||

Educational Q&A

The verse presents Kṛṣṇa as the comprehensive divine principle—sustainer, enchanter, dissolver, and ultimate cause—implying that ethical and spiritual life should culminate in devotion and surrender to the supreme source of order and meaning.

Vaiśaṃpāyana, as narrator, affirms Kṛṣṇa’s cosmic status in a didactic context within Śānti Parva, reinforcing a theological conclusion: the listener is urged to orient worship and trust toward Kṛṣṇa as the ground of creation, preservation, and dissolution.
