शुचीनि श्रवणीयानि शूणोमीह धनंजय । न च पापानि गृह्नामि ततोऊहं वै शुचिश्रवा:,धनंजय! मैं यहाँ पवित्र एवं श्रवण करने योग्य वचनोंको ही सुनता हूँ और पापपूर्ण बातोंको कभी ग्रहण नहीं करता हूँ, इसलिये मेरा नाम “शुचिश्रवा' है

Transliteration

śucīni śravaṇīyāni śṛṇomīha dhanaṃjaya | na ca pāpāni gṛhṇāmi tato 'haṃ vai śuciśravāḥ ||

Translation

「ダナンジャヤよ、ここで我は清らかで聞くに値する言葉のみを聞く。罪ある言葉は受け入れぬ。ゆえに我はまことに『シュチシュラヴァー』—清らかな聴聞をもつ者—と呼ばれる。」
