निषसाद गिरिप्रस्थे पुत्रमेवानुचिन्तयन् । अपने अमिततेजस्वी पुत्रकी यह महिमा देखकर व्यासजी उसीका चिन्तन करते हुए उस पर्वतके शिखरपर बैठ गये
niṣasāda giriprasthe putram evānucintayan | apane amitatejasvī putrasya yā mahimāṃ dṛṣṭvā vyāsajī sa eva cintanaṃ kurvan tasya parvataśikhare upaviśat ||
ビーシュマは語った。「わが子の比類なき栄光を目の当たりにしたとき、霊光はかり知れぬ聖仙ヴィヤーサは山の頂に坐し、その子そのものを思惟して心を沈めた。この光景は、最も賢き者でさえ顕現した偉大さの前には深い観照へと導かれること、そして急ぎではなく観照こそが、現れ出た徳と力にふさわしい応答であることを示している。」
भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical and spiritual value of reflective contemplation: when confronted with true greatness (mahimā) and spiritual brilliance (tejas), the appropriate response is inward attention and discernment rather than impulsive action.
Bhishma narrates that Vyasa, after seeing the remarkable glory of his son, goes to a mountain summit and sits there, wholly absorbed in thinking about him.
