The Nārāyaṇa Grounding of Ancestral Offerings
sambhrāntamanaso rājann āsan paramavismitāḥ | te svaiḥ śabdaiḥ sampūrṇam ākāśaṃ pūrṇaṃ iva kurvantaḥ | rājan! tān sahasā āgatān dṛṣṭvā samastā apsarāḥ manasā sambhrāntāḥ paramavismaye papatuḥ ||
The verse highlights how sudden, overwhelming phenomena can unsettle even celestial beings, illustrating the mind’s vulnerability to surprise and the natural rise of fear and wonder; it implicitly points to the value of steadiness (dhairya) and inner composure amid extraordinary events.
Śuka describes a sudden arrival accompanied by powerful sound that seems to fill the sky; upon seeing them appear all at once, the Apsarases become mentally agitated and intensely astonished.
