दोषदर्शी भवेत् तत्र यत्र राग: प्रवर्तते । अनिष्टवर्धितं पश्येत् तथा क्षिप्रं विरज्यते,जहाँ चित्तकी आसक्ति बढ़ने लगे, वहीं दोषदृष्टि करनी चाहिये और उसे अनिष्टको बढ़ानेवाला समझना चाहिये। ऐसा करनेपर उससे शीघ्र ही वैराग्य हो जाता है
doṣadarśī bhavet tatra yatra rāgaḥ pravartate | aniṣṭavardhitaṃ paśyet tathā kṣipraṃ virajyate ||
ナーラダは言った。「執着が芽生え始めるところでは、意図してその欠点を見よ。欲望の対象を、不善を増し、望まぬものを育てるものと見なせ。かくのごとき見方を養えば、離欲は速やかに起こり、心は執着の握りを緩める。」
नारद उवाच
When attachment (rāga) starts to grow, consciously apply doṣa-darśana—seeing the drawbacks—and recognize the object of craving as a cause of increasing harm (aniṣṭa). This mental discipline quickly produces vairāgya (dispassion).
In the Śānti Parva’s instruction on peace and liberation-oriented conduct, Nārada gives practical guidance for inner restraint: he advises a method to counter rising attachment by reframing it through awareness of its defects and consequences.
